Korkia appoints James Spooner as Chief Investment & Finance Officer

James Spooner takes on an expanded mandate as Chief Investment & Finance Officer, positioning Korkia to drive its next phase of growth through sharp investment and financial leadership.

James Spooner has been appointed Chief Investment & Finance Officer, bringing together leadership of Korkia’s investment, portfolio, and finance functions under a single structure.

Korkia is pleased to announce the appointment of James Spooner as Chief Investment & Finance Officer. In this expanded role, James assumes leadership responsibility for Korkia’s Finance function alongside his existing portfolio and investment responsibilities.

James joined Korkia in 2023 as Head of M&A and is a member of the company’s executive board. In his new role, he continues to serve on the executive board, now with broadened responsibility across investment and finance.

The appointment brings responsibility for capital formation, portfolio-level capital allocation, and financial performance across Korkia Group and its portfolio together under a single leadership structure.

“James brings exactly the combination of investment discipline and financial insight this role demands. I’m delighted to see him take on this broader mandate at such an important stage for Korkia,” said Pauli Mäenpää, Group CEO of Korkia.

As Korkia continues to scale, bringing investment and finance leadership closer together ensures that economic decisions across the business remain aligned with the company’s long-term strategy.

“I’m delighted to continue my journey with Korkia at a particularly exciting stage for both the platform and portfolio. Strengthening our financing and investment capabilities will be key to unlocking the next phase of growth and our mission to accelerate the energy transition”, said James Spooner.
