Iivari Poikonen joins Korkia as Investment Analyst Trainee

Korkia is delighted to welcome Iivari Poikonen to its renewable energy investment team as an Investment Analyst Trainee. Iivari is currently finalizing his studies at Turku School of Economics, majoring in Finance and Accounting with a minor in Business Law.

Throughout his studies, Iivari has been committed to complementing academic learning with practical, hands-on experience. His background includes roles at Nordic energy company Gasum within the finance department, law firm Castrén & Snellman in its M&A, Private Equity, and Tax & Structuring teams, as well as the Finnish Tax Administration and Oomi Energy. This combination of energy sector exposure, financial analysis, and legal insight provides a strong foundation for his role within Korkia’s investment team.

What in particular made you apply for a position at Korkia?

”Korkia’s unique business model, contributing to the renewable energy transition while generating meaningful financial returns for investors, was compelling. I was also inspired by the strong drive and ambition across the company, which is something I genuinely wanted to be part of.”

What goals and expectations do you have regarding your new role?

”I’m excited about the opportunity to develop my skills through hands-on work, learn from experienced colleagues, and support the team’s success. I’m looking forward to contributing to interesting and meaningful projects, while continuously developing my capabilities within the role.”

What energizes you in your free time?

”I get energized by staying active. whether it’s playing sports, going to the gym, or spending time outdoors. I also value the time spent with friends and family, which always gives me a positive boost.”
