Learn more about Tiia in a Q&A:

Q1: What goals and expectations do you have regarding your new job?

My goal is for Korkia’s legal team to act as a strategic business partner and a driving force, actively supporting the company’s strategy. In my view, the legal team should be deeply involved in projects from the outset, providing support to other functions and input for the decision-making as well as facilitating growth.

I want to assist Korkia in expanding its project portfolio and taking its projects even further. I have a strong understanding of the business environment in which Korkia operates and have extensive experience in mapping contract risks and comprehending the risks and opportunities associated with energy projects. I expect that my background in working in-house and at a law firm will help me with this goal and enable me to put my expertise in energy transactions to use.

I am motivated by Korkia’s commitment to promoting renewable energy, increasing its global usage and tackling climate problems. I hold high expectations and hopes for the company’s prospects from this perspective too. The work we do here is meaningful.

Q2: What kind of energy do you bring to the team and the work community?

It’s important for me to be a supportive team leader and a trusted colleague for everyone in the workplace. As a manager, I aim to be a sparring partner for the experts, encouraging diverse perspectives while providing the legal insight needed to guide decisions.

I approach my role with a can-do attitude and maintain a high level of ambition in everything I do. I am dedicated to getting things done and, more importantly, achieving success through teamwork and working towards common goals.

Q3: Reveal something surprising about yourself that many people do not know:

To balance the constantly evolving and dynamic energy markets and my working life I sing in a lawyers’ choir called Lain Huuto. Music and singing have always been part of my life and I’m as passionate about them as I am about my work. Singing requires persistent work and there’s always room for improvement. Lain Huuto is a very ambitious choir with difficult repertoires, and it’s rewarding to challenge myself in this area.

I find the choir to be a source of well-being for me. It’s also a great place to network and connect with colleagues from different sectors. It’s also worth noting that choral singing has been found to have brain health benefits!
