Korkia strengthens leadership team with executive appointments

We are proud to announce the expansion of Korkia’s executive management team with the appointments of James Spooner, Executive Vice President, M&A, and Anna Idänheimo, Chief People Officer.

Our leadership is expected to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of the renewable energy sector as Korkia is accelerating its growth to become a significant international investor in renewables,” Pauli Mäenpää comments.

James Spooner appointed Executive Vice President, M&A and Managing Director of Korkia’s UK office.  

James joins Korkia following the acquisition of the renewable energy business of London-based corporate finance boutique, RSF Capital Partners, after several years of close cooperation between the two companies. James, co-founding partner of RSF Capital Partners, holds a M.Sc in Mathematics from Oxford University and has a background in Investment Banking, having started his career with a decade long tenure at Goldman Sachs.

In this new position James will be leading Korkia’s M&A activities and transactions at a time when Korkia’s investment portfolio is rapidly expanding, and a number of projects are reaching the ready-to-build stage in 2024.

Anna Idänheimo appointed Chief People Officer

Anna’s appointment comes close to her 10-year milestone in Korkia’s ranks. With a M.Sc. in Information Networks and solid experience in change management, business development and leadership, Anna has been developing and overseeing Korkia’s HR and talent functions working closely with our Business Leads.

“I have always been curious to understand what makes certain teams thrive. I love numbers but as we know, what works in excel might not in the real world, where humanity brings layers and depth to the complex systems surrounding us. To make wise, far-reaching decisions we need to be both systematic and empathic. Bringing humanity closer to ‘hard business’ is my mission and thanks to my technical background bridging these two comes naturally,” comments Anna.
