Welcome to hear expert insight about the future views of renewable energy and the factors that affect investments in the green transition, electricity production capacity and the formation of electricity prices – both from the point of view of investors and citizens.

The event is opened by the Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Anders Adlercreutz. The panel includes Jukka Leskelä, CEO of Energieteollisuus ry, Pia Santavirta, CEO of Tesi, Petteri Laaksonen, Research Director at LUT University, Annukka Saari, Head of Climate and Energy Policy at Technology Industries of Finland, and Martti Malmivirta, Korkia’s board member. The event is hosted by journalist and author Anu Kuistiala.

Finland and the Renewable Energy Revolution

On November 9th 2023 we organized a hybrid event where top experts in the field discussed the many opportunities offered by renewable energy. Finland could have an internationally significant role in accelerating energy transition – but only if we don’t let the opportunity pass us by. You can watch the recording here (most of the event is in Finnish).

The event was opened with a video greeting from Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen. Panel discussion on the transformation that energy sector is going through, and the possibilities opened up by it to Finland. The panel discussion included Hannu Linna, Chairman of the Board at Fingrid, Petteri Laaksonen, Research Director at LUT, Elina Salo-Miilumäki, Leading Environmental Consultant at Ramboll, and Martti Malmivirta, Member of the Board at Korkia. Finally, the event featured lessons from the global energy transition as Korkia’s Kristina Sweet and James Spooner discussed energy markets in the UK and Canada in relation to the situation in Finland.
