Kristina Sweet, currently Investment Director, Canada, will assume additional responsibilities of Korkia’s Sustainability Director. Kristina’s appointment comes at an important moment in Korkia’s sustainability journey, as we evaluate our sustainability goals and commitments moving forward.

In this new position, Kristina will be responsible for the integration of Korkia’s Sustainability and Responsible Investment Policy into Korkia‘s day-to-day operations and ensuring our progress towards sustainability targets and commitments.

“Korkia is on a mission to produce clean megawatts to the market to accelerate the global energy transition. Our core business demonstrates we can make a significant positive impact while ensuring attractive return on investment. Kristina, with her proven track record and expertise as an Investment Director, will no doubt excel in her new role,” says Korkia’s CEO Pauli Mäenpää.

With a career crossing more than two decades, and four countries, Kristina has a versatile background in manufacturing, defense, agriculture, and energy. However, energy has always been her biggest passion – and with good reason. Kristina is from Alberta known as the energy province of Canada, where it is not uncommon for entire families to work in the energy market. This is also the case with Kristina’s family: three generations, spanning five decades and three continents, are currently working in, or for, Alberta energy projects or companies.

“The energy industry has always been an important part of my life. To be a part of the green energy transition in my home ‘town’ and driving Korkia’s key sustainability commitments, in Alberta and across of our investments, brings my career full circle,” comments Kristina.
