Korkia is delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Bolton as a new Vice President in the Portfolio Investment Team. In his role, Peter will focus on sales processes for Korkia’s projects globally, as well as managing development activities in the UK.

With over fifteen years of experience in energy infrastructure investments, Peter has worked for renewable infrastructure fund managers for the past decade. Prior to joining Korkia, Peter held a leadership role as Investment Director at Gresham House where he raised and deployed funds in solar and storage while overseeing operating onshore wind assets. Before that, Peter worked at Foresight Group focused on the same technologies but also on bioenergy (EfW, AD, biomass) and plastic recycling.

Peter holds a degree in Geography from the University of Oxford, with a focus on long-term climate change, leading to his focus on renewable energy.

Learn more about Peter in a Q&A:

Q1: What in particular made you apply for a Korkia position?

What initially attracted me to Korkia was its prospects as a growth company. I was excited by the phase of huge activity that is around the corner.

The “DevCo” partnerships have expanded significantly, reaching an impressive scale, and now is the time to capitalise on that on behalf of shareholders and investors. This will mean lots of market engagement, transactions and intelligent thinking to ensure Korkia’s continued success.

It also helped that every employee I met was enthusiastic about the next phase, eager to collaborate to reach our goals. It’s been a few weeks since I started working at Korkia, and I’m delighted to be part of this forward-looking team, all sharing the same enthusiasm.

Q2: What are your strengths in your new role as Vice President, Investment Portfolio Team?

I believe that my main strength lies in my experience managing investments in the renewables and energy storage sector. In previous roles, I worked for companies that would often be buyers of projects like those planned to be sold by Korkia. This experience and my network in the industry means I can understand buyers to work towards successful transactions!

I’m also experienced in negotiating construction and power sales contracts. This can be useful to potentially add value to projects before they are sold, by de-risking things for the future owner.

Q3: What energizes you in your free time?

Sport! I’m trying to run to or from the office each day, which is a great time for thinking. I also like to play squash for exercise that is so frantic that you can’t possibly concentrate on anything else!
