“My future goal is to become a top legal professional in the renewable energy industry” – meet Sofia Korvenmäki, Legal Trainee

Sofia Korvenmäki has started as Legal Trainee at Korkia! In this role she will be assisting with legal assignments in renewable energy project development, investment services, and corporate administration. Sofia is a recently graduated lawyer who has experience especially in contracts, corporate governance and transactions. In addition to her law degree, Sofia has studied Accounting at Hanken School of Economics and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Creative Sustainability at Aalto University.

What in particular made you apply for a Korkia position?

I applied for the Legal Trainee position at Korkia, because in this task I can combine both of my professional interests: working with legal matters and sustainable development. Because sustainable development is in the core of Korkia’s business, the job seemed particularly meaningful to me. In this job, I can also utilize my business knowledge on a daily basis. This job at Korkia just seemed like a dream job for me.

What goals and expectations do you have regarding your new job?

Because I have only recently graduated as a lawyer, I expect that at Korkia I will be able to learn a lot of new legal skills and improve my existing skills, such as contract drafting, negotiating and preparing legal documents. I believe that I will also learn a lot of new things about renewable energy and investments. My future goal is to become a top legal professional in the renewable energy industry.

What energizes you in your free time?

In my free time, I am energized especially by music. I sing in a band, try sometimes to play the piano and listen to a lot of music. This autumn, my goal is to learn to play the bass. In addition to music, I am also energized by spending time in nature.
