Korkia sells 10.7 MW portfolio of fully permitted solar PV assets in Northern Italy
Korkia’s development company Biko Renewable Energy, a joint venture between Korkia and BIWO Rinnovabile, has sold a 10.7 MW portfolio of fully permitted solar PV assets in Northern Italy.
Korkia’s development company Biko Renewable Energy, a joint venture between Korkia and BIWO Rinnovabile, has completed the sale of a 10.7 MW portfolio of fully permitted solar PV assets in Northern Italy. The transaction follows Korkia’s January announcement of the sale of two solar PV assets in Italy.
The portfolio comprises three projects located in Northern Italy’s Lombardy region: the 4.4 MW Casnate project, the 3.5 MW Inveruno project, and the 2.8 MW Senna Comasco project. The portfolio includes both conventional ground-mounted solar and agri-PV projects, reflecting Italy’s increasing focus on efficient land use and agricultural compatibility.
The assets are fully permitted and ready for construction, attesting to Korkia’s focus on developing high-quality renewable energy projects with efficient grid connections and strong fundamentals. When completed, the facilities are expected to generate approximately 15 GWh of electricity annually, supporting Italy’s growing demand for renewable energy capacity.
“We are seeing strong interest in well-designed solar, BESS and agri-PV assets in Italy,” said Andrea Fradagrada, Country Manager for Italy at Korkia. “Korkia’s Italian portfolio now totals approximately 800 MW in mid- or late-phase development, comprising around 200 MW of solar PV and 600 MW of BESS. Our focus remains on advancing a diversified pipeline of high-quality projects and bringing assets to market as the portfolio progresses.”
“Following our earlier announcement in January, this transaction marks a strong start to the year and reflects the steady maturation of Korkia’s wider development portfolio,” said Pauli Mäenpää, Group CEO of Korkia. “As our pipeline continues to progress, we are able to bring assets to market in a disciplined and timely manner. With a multi-gigawatt pipeline across several markets, we advance projects to ready-to-build and, when appropriate, beyond, maintaining flexibility in how we deliver value.”
With one of the largest independent European development pipelines, comprising over 150 projects across eight countries and approximately 14 GW of renewable energy and energy storage projects in mid- or late-phase development, Korkia is a global investor and developer of utility-scale solar PV, BESS and onshore wind projects.
