Stonestreet Green Solar and BESS project now advanced to ready-to-build
Korkia and Evolution Power have achieved ready-to-build (RTB) status for the 150 MWp Stonestreet Green Solar and BESS project in Kent, England.
Korkia and its development partner Evolution Power achieved ready-to-build (RTB) status for a 150 MWp solar and 99.9 MW battery energy storage (BESS) project in Kent, England.
The Stonestreet Green Solar and BESS project is located near Ashford in Kent, on a 192-hectare (474-acre) site north of Aldington. The location was selected for its strong solar irradiance and proximity to a suitable grid connection point.
As a solar project with an export capacity greater than 50 MW, Stonestreet Green Solar was designated a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP), requiring development consent directly from the UK Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero. Development consent was granted in October 2025 and all legal challenges to the decision have now been exhausted.
Once operational, Stonestreet Green Solar will generate enough renewable energy to power approximately 42,000 UK homes annually.
“Stonestreet Green Solar is the first of Korkia and Evolution Power’s NSIP-scale projects to reach ready-to-build,” said Peter Bolton, Vice President, Portfolio Investments & Country Manager for UK at Korkia.
“The focus now turns to securing a long-term offtake agreements to maximise project value, and then progressing towards a final investment decision (FID).”
“Evolution Power is progressing two other NSIP-scale solar and co-located BESS projects, representing approximately 2 GW of solar capacity, which have received Gate 2 offers and are expected to receive connection dates in the early 2030s.”

Progress across Korkia’s global pipeline
Korkia has achieved multiple other development milestones across its global portfolio in 2026, including authorization for the Terrazas sectioning substation in Chile, grid connection permits for Romanian portfolio, and two solar projects securing Power Plant Approval in Alberta, Canada. In addition, the company has exited two fully-permitted solar PV projects and a 10.7 MW portfolio of solar PV assets in northern Italy.
Korkia’s renewable energy portfolio currently comprises 15 GW of mature utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage (BESS) development assets in Europe, North America and South America.
